日本が世界中の人々に尊敬され、愛される、“最高のおもてなし”のためにできることは何だろう？
“おもてなし”の本質を見極め、2020年東京オリンピック/パラリンピックをきっかけに、私たちと一緒に後世まで残るような“世界に誇れる最高のおもてなし”をしませんか？
The problem
2013年（平成25年）9月7日に、国際オリンピック委員会の第125次IOC総会で、滝川クリステル「“おもてなし」と発言したことからこの言葉が世界に広まり、現在ではネットやSNS上で日本の“おもてなし”に対して好意的な意見が多く見られるようになっています。しかし、文化や習慣のギャップに起因した外国人にとっての問題や批判、 “おもてなし”と“サービス”が同義と捉えられ、一方的すぎる過度な“おもてなし”の押し付けや無賃労働の強要に繋がるといった問題も指摘されています。
資源の少ない日本にとって、観光は大きな柱であることは間違いありません。2020年東京オリンピック/パラリンピックは、世界に向けて日本の良さを発信する一つの機会ですが、ゴールではありません。例えば、空港から選手村まで迷わず道案内してくれたり、荷物を運んだりするサービスは、どうすれば喜んでもらえるか？体が不自由な方への最適なサービスとはどんなことが考えられるか？など、将来を見据え、世界中の人々に「また日本に行きたい！」と思ってもらえるよう、2020年東京オリンピック/パラリンピックに向けた最高のおもてなしを一緒に考えましょう！
