The Brief

There are various kinds of "heat" in our daily life. For example, the heat we use for heating in winter or the heat we get when we catch a cold. On a hot summer day, our smartphones and computers get very hot. There are many types of heat, such as the enthusiasm and incandescence that arises from within a person. Heat is one of the forms of energy transfer in a narrow sense, but they are used in many sensory images.
When we take a broad view of heat, some heat is better the higher it is, while some heat must be let off, as in the case of heat stroke or countermeasures against thermal runaway in electronic devices. There are also environments and situations where we want to keep the optimal amount of heat or want more heat.
In our daily lives, there are cooling sheets that can be attached to the forehead, clothes and towels made of cool materials, parts and materials developed for smartphones and automobiles to function properly, ice cream spoons and cooking utensils, and other products that increase comfort by reducing heat and effectively transferring heat. There are also products that increase comfort by effectively transferring heat. What kind of interesting products and services would be created if we could pay attention to the heat hidden in our daily lives and effectively utilize and improve it? The Background

Combustion Synthesis Co.,Ltd. was established in 2011 through joint research with Akiyama Laboratory, Graduate School of Engineering, Hokkaido University, with the aim of "contributing to society by putting research to practical use”. The company's name, Combustion Synthesis, refers to the process of synthesizing inorganic compounds by using the heat generated during chemical reactions of substances. The process does not require an external heat source and allows for quick and energy-saving material synthesis.
On the other hand, in human society, there is a word that describes a type of person: "JINEN”. ”JINEN" means a person who lights a fire and burns by himself. In other words, a person who moves independently and thinks independently. It also means a person who has positive thinking and a proactive attitude. The staff of Combustion Synthesis Co.,Ltd. will grow with " desire to JINEN”. Our goal is to spread our success to everyone involved, and in turn, contribute to society.

The Challenge

Combustion Synthesis Co.,Ltd. is mainly engaged in the business of ceramics technology. The group of "ceramics" includes ceramics, glass, cement, and refractories that we use in our daily lives. Ceramic products are hard, heat-resistant, corrosion-resistant, and electrically insulating, and Fine Ceramics in particular have excellent mechanical, electrical, electronic, optical, chemical, and biochemical properties and advanced functions. Today, Fine Ceramics are used in a wide range of fields, from heat insulation materials for space shuttles, semiconductors, automobiles, information and communications, industrial machinery, and medicine, to everyday items such as rice cookers and kitchen knives.
Combustion Synthesis Co.,Ltd. has the technology to create high-quality fine ceramics, and has been engaged in business-to-business transactions, mainly B to B (business-to-business). Now, we can create products with additional functions by adding technologies related to heat dissipation.
Up until now, we have only focused on selling our products to companies, but I believe that by utilizing this know-how and technology, we can provide products and services that can enrich people's lives, for example, as B to C (business to consumer) products and services for the public. In particular, if we focus on "heat," we can think of various situations where we want to reduce, increase, or use heat more efficiently. In addition, we believe that the technology itself can be used as a teaching material to develop other fields. We would like to combine our technology with your ideas to enrich our lives and realize comfortable living in the future. No specialized knowledge of technology or materials is required!
